MERLIN Award 2008

JOEST subsidiary wins Chamer of Commerce price

The German-American Chamber of Commerce for the middle west of the USA grants every year the MERLIN Award in several categories to German-American co-operations in the area. This year companies were nominated in four different categories. Dr. Marcus Wirtz, managing partner of JOEST Inc. – the Chicago subsidiary of the JÖST group – was more then pleased to be awarded with the MERLIN as ‘Best New Company/Start UP.’

Thanks to an innovative German engineering team coupled with US manufacturing, the company’s sales and profits have taken off. The JOEST Inc. motto: ‘German engineering – made in the USA ’ found a very positive resonance. The policy to take in rather a number of small systems orders from a variety of customers across several industries and to proof reliability and quality paid off. Having started 2006 JOEST Inc. grew rapidly within the last years and was able to broaden its product range constantly.
